Why is my first bill so much money?

I was told 30 dollar activation would be waived and with autopay on value plus plan it would only be 50 bucks a month?

First bills are always high due to the activation fee, not all discounts may have been applied and you are billed for more than one month of service. Who told you the activation fee would be waived? Unfortunately, we see that complaint often. Customers are told the activation fee will be waived but then find it isn’t. All you can do is call and ask them to remove it. Your autopay discount probably hasn’t started yet too. Your next bill should be the promised $50.

Hey there @Prodman65, we want to help with your bill.

Let’s meet in a Direct Message to your bill, we understand that having a bill higher than expected can be upsetting, but we would like to help get it corrected for you. Please check your Direct Message Inbox (it’s the chat icon next to the bell icon in the upper right corner of the Forums)

As @sandblaster mentioned your first bill is higher due to the activation fee, and paying a prorated charge on top of your first months bill.

We look forward to you meeting us in a Direct Message, so that we can help with the activation fee. Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.
