Question

I am outside if the us and cannot use my text fixture because I get charged roaming fir the data. I want to sign in my account to view my bill but I cannot because I cannot get any texts.  I need the verification code to come via email. How do I fix my settings for that?  Thank you!

If you are a prepaid user you have no service. You don't have to worry about getting charged for anything, because you have no service. Prepaid users also cannot log into their account from outside of the United States, it is purposely blocked.

If you are a postpaid user, go into your phone's settings and turn off data roaming. With data roaming off, your phone can still send and receive text messages. Text messages received are free. If you send a text it is $0.50. Phone calls are expensive, typically $3 per minute.
Sms/text is NOT charged as data.
