Cancel Protect Advantage Online
Is it possible to cancel Protect Advantage (phone insurance) online or essentially remove this feature from my wireless plan? I've done a search for this topic. Some articles allude to a 24/7 number but when I called, it said I had to call during business hours (I called around 1am PST). Other articles gave step by step instructions but they are about 3 years old and the menu options under my account aren't the same. Any help is much appreciated!

Hi @janexjane,
Thank you for reaching out. Allow us to take a closer look into your device protection inquiry.
In order to make changes to your wireless features please follow these steps:
Sign in to your wireless account, select My Wireless and click on the specific device. Then select Manage Device & Features and you will see the current features you have. Select Device Protection and it should give you the option to take any action on the feature.
If you are having any difficulties, make sure your myAT&T mobile app is up to date and you are an authorized user on the account.
Let us know if this helps.
Doyin, AT&T Community Specialist.

I was sent information regarding Protect Advantage to my home address.
I NEVER signed up for this. How do I decline this service or do I have to get in touch with FTC and report a scam?

I did not request this service! Is this some kind of an insurance scam? Do I have to get in touch with the FTC?

It was probably the att rep when they review your account. The one for me showed up after visiting the store and my rep wanted to show me ways to save me money. The AT&T order system just seems to be buggy at least for me whenever I had to get any small business related service.

I have all of my family phones covered under this "plan". Two weeks ago I tried to see about getting 2 of my phones repaired or replaced due to damage. I was told that they cannot do anything about either of them, that I would have to purchase new phones. This is not what they had originally told me. I pay $46 a month for this "service" just to find out it doesn't cover anything. They made it super easy to sign up for (by lying and deceiving), and now it is next to impossible to cancel, I am so tired of AT&T and the high pressure stores that sell this garbage!

@SUBS9121 What kind of repairs did you say you needed? Why did they tell you it wasn't covered?

Both phones had a cracked screen, very minor cracks, and both worked flawlessly other than the minor crcaks. I have had this plane for well over a year, and thought I'd check it out to see if it was as good as they had promised. The store salesman took a quick look at both phones and said they were both too old, that I'd have to purchase new phones, but he'd give me a "good price". This was the same salesman who had originally sold us these phones with the "protect" plan. He had promised that they would repair or replace any of our phones if they became damaged. Guess their was a great deal of "fine print".

Ah, he was just trying to make a sale. Call AT&T and make an insurance claim. You shouldn't have an issue getting them repaired when you talk to the correct people.
