What should I do?

I will go to the U.S this summer and spend the whole summer as a summer college student. And then I'll go back to China, then after a year, I will go to the U.S to study for more than three years. And I want to use AT&T's network this summer and later after I get to the U.S university. I have two questions

1. I already have an iPhone that supports AT&T's network bought from the Apple Store, so can I just set up a number?

2. Can I use the same account and number I used during my summer time when I get to U.S university next year?

Your phone will work fine.  I assume they don't  carrier lock phones like they do in the USA.

You can get a Gophone SIM card and a $45 plan with 6 gigs of data and tethering.  If you use autopay, just remember to stop auto pay before you go back to China.

You could use the same number, but it would cost you $100 to hold the number for a full year on a pay per use plan.    Might be cheaper to let it go.

I see your point. Thanks a lot! By the way, if I already have an iPhone and I have my university ID this summer, can I just head to one of the AT&T shops and get a mobile account with a SIM card? Cause I don't want to buy an iPhone again.
