I wanted to add my phone service -cell through ATT . would I receive discount and free phone

Read the att sales pages. The deals are published. Pick a phone that indicates it is discounted or free. Then click on where it says c offer details so that you can see all of the conditions under which the phone would receive bill credits against the phone over 36 months.

Not really free. It's an offer In exchange for a 36-month commitment on your part.
