change user ID

All I want to do is change my sign in user ID but the closest I can get r instructions telling me how to go about it and step 1 is go to profile and it is even in blue so just touch it and it'll take u there but all I get is a page telling me this page is not available so what am I supposed to do after that I tried going to profile myself but that doesn't work someone please HELP!!!
