Account Help
I need assistance. I have tried both chat and phone to get support. Within the online portal, I am the primary account holder. However, ATT support insists I am not. I need assistance changing this. If ATT could get me in direct contact with someone, versus calling a number or chat, it would appreciated.

This is a customer populated message board and NOT a way to contact AT&T. That would be either calling CS or using the Chat option.
Perhaps someone (again a fellow customer) can offer some insight or advice on solving your issue.

Understood- but the chat and call options as noted are brick walls. Need to talk to someone that is not restricted to a support script- or I can just cancel the accounts I guess (I do have that power, but I am not the main contact, just the primary owner).

In what context is AT&T Support insisting that you're not the account owner? What are you trying to accomplish that you aren't able to?

Any account action. I cant pass the account authorization steps as I am not the authorized user, which apparently is not the same as the primary account owner.

Aha, that's a horse of a different color.
To prove you are an authorized user, you must be able to verify the PIN. It sounds like that might be the issue.
If you go to an AT&T store, they might be able to help verify your identity and get the PIN reset.

One would think, I offered up the PIN, and that was not an acceptable form of authorization to begin the conversation.

Hmmm...I still think there's a miscommunication somewhere.
Regardless, you can either go to an AT&T store or file a BBB complaint. The BBB will forward your info to someone higher up at AT&T who can hopefully get it sorted.

Authentication verification is applied for your account safety @dagarritysps. We want to protect your account information.
First, we want to give thanks to the ACE's for their support and teamwork.
You can get help with authenticating and accessing your account by visiting your local AT&T Store, online chat, or through Customer Service.
You'll need to be either the account owner or an authorized user and must verify the account Passcode. Then we can access your account and further assist. If you'd like to give us a second chance, we can further assist you with accessing and addressing any account questions you have.
Please let us know what you decide, as we're always here to help!
Thank you for communicating with the Community!
