SIM not provisioned
I have a gear S3 frontier watch. I keep getting a Sim card not provisioned #MM2 message. I am on a go phone plan with my own phone. What does this message mean and how can I correct it?

Hi @ BigPopa,
This is not what we wish for you to encounter! Any time of error on a device can definitely be bothersome. I would love the opportunity to help you get this situated.
Based extensive research, I found the error code “SIM card not provisioned (mm2)” is due to the device not being active under an account. For use of this device, an account is not required. You are more than welcome to use this device over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to bypass this message.
We have a great article which covers activation instructions! You can also check out our Device Support tool, this provides steps to find your device IMEI and serial number. After selecting your make and model, choose Tutorials > System & storage > Find IMEI & serial number.
I hope the information provided helps you out! Have an amazing rest of your day!

My phone is a company phone and therefore getting an account ID is extremely difficult. The company has no problem with me having this watch but our IT guy doesn't seem to know how to solve the issue. One would think AT&T would know how to deal with this.

@Oldguy51 Are you also on a prepaid plan? The original poster was using a phone sim in a watch. This is not possible on prepaid. SIM cards are designed and provisioned for the type of device. Even on postpaid plan, a SIM card must be set up to work with a watch, rather than a phone. The line must be provisioned for a watch also. The phone and watch have to be in the same account to use number sync.
Since the account isn't yours, you will have to have someone authorized to administer the account deal with correct provisioning and replacing SIM card if necessary. I'm not sure ATt will even help you.

there is no sim card to deal with in the samsung watches... They have esims..... This user needs there own myATT account to make this work with there line. Numbersync is one of the worst thought out products in the world.

Hi,
I'm not on a prepaid plan (at least not to my knowledge). I will pass this on to our IT people and see what I can accomplish. Thanks.

Thanks, Lizdance40. I do have an AT&T account as I'm all AT&T at home for Uverse, internet, and phone. In addition, my wife and son piggyback off of my company account for their phones. I have to believe there is some way to get an account ID with all of the usage I have with AT&T.

@GLIMMERMAN76 Is our expert on these things. What he is indicating is the SIM card for the watch can't be properly configured on a business account. The watch and phone its synced to must be on a consumer account with My ATT online access for individuals.
I have number sync working between phone and tablet on a consumer account and it works perfectly well. I agree this is a failing on ATT part as it would seem a huge advantage for business to have this feature.
