Numbersync stopped working on Galaxy Watch 4

Numbersync deactivated without warning a few days ago.  Resetting the watch was no help. Tech support was no help.  It worked just fine for the past 8 months leading up this.

We want to help figure out what caused NumberSync to deactivate on your watch, @bjpuhala

Answer the questions provided below to give us a clear understanding of what you're experiencing with your watch:

  • Have you made any changes to your plan recently? We're asking because this feature requires you to be on a compatible rate plan.
  • Is your software up to date? To view the software version:
    • Swipe up from the bottom of the clock screen to access the Apps tray, then scroll to and select the Settings app.
    • Scroll to and select About watch, then scroll to and select Software
    • The software version will be displayed.
  • Have you made sure that Bluetooth is turned on for both devices? If it isn't, this may be why your watch isn't connecting.

If the answer to the questions asked above is yes, we recommend trying to resync your watch if you haven't already. Here's how:

  • Swipe up from the bottom of the clock screen to access the Apps tray, then scroll to and select the Settings app
  • Select Connections, then select AT&T NumberSync.
  • Select Get started, then select the Checkmark icon.
  • From your paired device, enter your AT&T User ID and Password then select Sign in.
  • Select Sync a watch.
  • You will receive a 5-digit code on the watch. From your paired device, enter the 5-digit sync code and a device nickname, then select Continue.
  • Your watch will be listed under Synced watches. Note: To unsync your watch, select Unsync this watch.
  • When sync is complete, select DONE on the watch.

Please keep us updated on how this works for you. We can take a more advanced approach if needed.

I have tried all those steps, and the answer to the questions is yes to all.  I even reset my watch.  I still cannot get Numbersync to work.  I continue to get error SD-SDK-200.

All worked just fine until last week.

Tech Support "helped". Now my watch doesn't give an error code,  my phone does!  The phone now gives error code PD-SDK-system_error.

Frankly, I give up. AT&T doesn't care.

Hi @bjpuhala, we are here to help you take a look into the error code on your device while trying to sync your smart watch.

If your device is not originally an AT&T phone, it is unlikely it will function correctly with number sync.
If you are receiving the error mentioned, this may indicate that the registration failed, software update is needed, or there is a missing requirement with the sync.

You mentioned this happend after an update on your device so we suggest the following steps:

  1. Restart AT&T Messages on your Smart Device
  2. Go to Message App
  3. Go to settings then More Settings
  4. Select AT&T Message Backup & Sync and Select Restart

For additional, step by step troubleshooting tips visit our Device support page. Select your devices Make and Model and then follow the prompts. We're here if you have any questions.

Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums; we  hope this helps.

When I choose restart, the screen goes back to the More Settings menu.  Is something else supposed to happen?

We understand the importance of utilizing your NumberSync feature @bjpuhala,

There is a known issue with NumberSync that is currently under investigation.

  • No further examples are needed for this issue.
  • Teams are engaged and are actively investigating the issue.
  • There is no ETA on when this will be resolved.
  • Customers can still use Bluetooth during down time.

We apologize for the inconvenience, thank you for bearing with us while we work towards a fix. We're here if you have any questions. Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.

It amazes me how AT&T always falls back on the "known issue" response. Tech support helped me yesterday to dispose of the error code on my watch only to create one on my phone.  Before that I was given the "known issue" excuse.

I bought an LTE watch because I wanted NumberSync. Now, I still pay for the LTE service to my watch with no resolution in site.

Not a fan of AT&T

I can only wait so long for someone to answer your invite to DM.  I waited as long as I could.  Another strike against AT&T

I got Numbersync to work! I removed the Mobile Plan from my watch. Settings, Connections, Mobile Networks, Mobile Plans, Remove. Then I did a Reset. I don't know if this is due to a fix on AT&T's end. But it just worked and NumberSync is active. Galaxy Watch 4 and Samsung Z Flip 3.
