Uverse turns itself off during day after 6hours. How to STOP? I PAY for service, not a dark screen.

Unless something has changed, it is 8 hours, not 6.
There's a secret to keeping this from happening. Push a button on your remote before the 8 hours is up. "OK," or maybe "Exit to TV" would work pretty well.
