Volume
Volume on ATT main receiver flucuates.
- My ATT receiver is set at volume 25
- receiver model # ISB7005
- when watching a recorded program the volume is lower
- at time regular programing has a lower voulme
- when watching a netflix movie with my smart DVR and I go back to ATT the volume is almost mute and takes about 10 minutes to "warm up"
- seems like this problem has been happening since I got the new receiver last year.
- no other problems with other receivers
- I have ATT wireless internet as well.

@Harshman - Call in for a new one - 800-288-2020. Be sure to say it is all the way up -25 in volume. Is it the one with the hard drive DVR? You will lose recordings, but not your schedule of future recordings.

Maybe it's the TV?

thought about that, but the volume is fine watching live TV, the volume is low when playing back a recorded show or when going back to the TV after watching netflix. In other words it is not a consistant low volume so I don't think it's the TV. I'm not the only one to register this complaint.

Just started happening recently to me. Live TV from uVerse dvr is fine. Playback of recorded shows has the volume very low. Have to remember to turn volume down before switching back to live tv or you blow out the speakers.

These are the same problems with my TV. The volume is much lower when watching anything on my ATT Uverse box vs. say Netflix or Disney+. It's so frustrating that I can barely hear the sound when I have laundry going or dishes are being washed, even when it's turned all the way up.
Volume on \recordings are even lower than live TV. How can this be resolved?

Uverse TV settop boxes have their own volume control. I have mine set to max or default and simply use the TV volume controls. Reprogram your Uverse remote to control the settop box volume and I suspect this will resolve your problem. Once done you can revert volume control back to the TV.

Is it possible that a bug in the firmware of the STB (or DVR) exists? I have my black U-verse remote programmed to control my sound bar ( I have the tv speakers off), which is connected to my smart TV via s/PDIF. Twice I have encountered when I hit the mute button the remote, it mutes the volume level on my DVR (which I didn’t know the boxes themselves had volume control) instead the sound bar, I verified this because when is use other inputs or Netflix I can hear the sound. The first time it happened I rebooted the STB and it went away, the second time I happened to stumble across the remote programming guide brochure and managed to switch the volume control mode to unmute it. Hoping there is no third time!!

I doubt it, this stuff is now ancient. Keep in mind Uverse hardware does not support ARC which is something I believe soundbars tend to rely on.
