WiFi Access Point

Should the link light on the access point continually flash?

 

We had an issue with it that would not clear using the instructions on the TV screen, but finally did when I removed power from the Access Point and plugged it back in. The link light has flashed through the attempt to reset and the re-initialization, but I don't recall it flashing before. 

 

Also, I expected the Ethernet cord to have a link light but it doesn't.

We're here to help @hazzard13, with flashing light at the access point.

 

What color is the flashing lights and what is the model of the device?

Also, we would suggest that you try rebooting the gateway. Looking forward to your response.

Can you tell me why we loose connectivity to U-Verse so often? It happens randomly at least 1-2 time weekly. I also have to reconnect the TV to the gateway around 12 to 2 AM anytime I try to go from watching TV to listening to a music channel.

There's any number of things that could be causing your internet to be losing connection constantly, such as a poor Wi-Fi signal or line issues. We'd recommend checking out our article on Optimizing Internet Speeds and going through our Troubleshoot & Resolve Tool to see if the problem can be resolved on your side.

Thank you very much for your time and suggestions!! I moved the WiFi unit for our main TV out of the cabinet and put it on top and it seems to have made a big difference with one of my other frustrations - TVs on the same channel in different rooms are way out of sync with each other!! I'm hoping it will resolve my other issues as well.
