Worst Customer Service Ever

I was just told I have a "early termination fee" on my account. I can't view it because the app is terrible and won't load my statement. When I told the Loyalty department about wanting to remove the fee and how the agent who helped me initially cancel my UVerse Package didn't tell me about any cancellation fees, she said "there is nothing I can do about it. I would if I could, but they won't let me". She admitted to me that when cancelling service, agents are required to go over termination fees as it reads on their computer, yet I was still neglected to be informed of this. She admitted this to me, apologized, said I should have been informed, and yet still said she couldn't do anything. I have never seen anyone admit wrong, yet not try to make it right. If I wasn't stuck in an apartment for another 8 months, I would have been gone long ago. Simply worst service I have seen. Good Riddance.

........... also, why am I required to sign up to make a complaint so I can get emails from you. I feel like I'm stuck in a terrible marriage I can't get rid of.

I believe that the ETF is $15 for each month left on your contract.

Supposedly, Conversations might be recorded at ATT. If you know the date..etc., ask for playback.....for what it is worth.

@teetertotter if in fact it was randomly recorded the customer service reps and their supervisors do not have access to those recordings. Only at the corporate level are they accessible.

-------------------INCLUDED IN EACH POST FOR CLARIFICATION______
While AT&T employees do look at forum posts from time to time, we are here to represent the forum with our experiences as customers and do not represent AT&T in any official capacity with our responses and do so on our own time unpaid and off the clock. As employees we are not rewarded nor compensated to participate in these forums This forum is comprised of regular customers to communicate with other customers to offer advice and share experiences same as any other user Although there is a small team of customer care specialists that monitor the forums the sheer volume of posts are simply too many posts for these agents to respond to each one of them.

@Constructive, ya, I guess it would be a dead horse, unless requested by an attorney under the "Freedom of Information Act." I have found the Corporate Office at (Phone number hidden) and the normal complaint phone number as (Phone number hidden), which is general info when Googled. Then, you have to take the right approach to the matter and you still might not like what they have to say. Requesting a copy of the original contract, might be in order for any disagreement. Constructive, might you have additional comment for help or have clarification for those that are angry or do not understand some ATT internal reps positions? Who can request the recordings from Corporate? What info must they have before hand?

Yes, the phone numbers are hidden, but you can Google for those that might want more help, if worth it.

FOIA applies to documents and information controlled by the U.S. Government. AT&T is a publically held company.

I suppose one could employ an attorney ($500+ an hour) to try to get a court order for recordings since those belong to the company.

Shoutout to everyone who can remember their childhood phone number but can't remember the password they created yesterday.  You are my people.  😊

Ya, have to see the contract first, before acting. This is good conversation if there are any alternatives or cause for recourse....if worth it to get $$$ back.

I think you can forget the BBB, dealing with ATT. Years back, I did contact the BBB on an Amana Refrig and received 4 day results. Repair part at no charge...long story short.

Have a great week all!
