Uverse TV Free Sound bar....Is it a scam?

I signed up for a U-verse TV/Internet package a month ago and was supposedly awarded a free JBL sound bar as a promotion along with Visa Reward cards. I've received the redemption information for the cards but have heard nothing on the soundbar. I did the AT&T "contact us" chat and Reward Center chat and they both said they have nothing on my account.

Thank you so much for the question. First of, The JBL Bluetooth Soundbar promotion is not false. Each week in July we had a device offer starting on July 2nd-29th.

 

Date of Promotion: July 16 - 22, 2018

Device Offer: JBL Bluetooth Soundbar($150)
Qualifying TV service:  DIRECTV(All packages) U-verse (U-Family or above)

Eligibility: All Orders to be placed online, Call Center and Sales centers cannot fulfill offer.

The offer is now retired.

 

If the offer accepted and was ordered online, then your device will be shipped by the 2nd week of September.  We do hope that this helps answer your question.

Thank you Matthew for the information. Is there anything I need to do in order to claim/request the soundbar or is it automatically sent to my home as long as i placed the order online within that week and enter the promo code during the order process?

I've been told for the past month to wait for an email advising me of a claim code. To this date nothing. Nobody seems to know about the promotion. Reward center says talk to Loyalty dept, Loyalty dept says talk to online chat. Poor planning. Maybe another gift card to offset the cost of the promotional sound bar? Seems like they can send those just fine.

It is terrible, I am still waiting for a clear directive. There were several giveaways during that month. I wonder if is only the soundbar promo having issues or if they are all being affected.

I think it’s a scam. How come we can’t get tracking information or shipping information of any kind? Doesn’t make sense.

Update 10/4/18

I checked reward center  on 9/17 and Soundbar reward showed up.  Soundbar was finally delivered on 10/1.  So no this is not a scam but talking a long time to deliver. When you call AT&T, they do not have any clue about this promotion. I just got lucky.

I still have not received my soundbar and it is almost November. this is completely unacceptable from a company as big as AT&T. This is clearly a scam.
