We'd like to check this out for you @Kiifer!

To understand more about the specific SIM card you speak of, we'll ask a few questions:

  • Are you trying to reuse the SIM card with your AT&T wireless service? Do you currently have an active AT&T account?
  • What device is the SIM card currently inserted in? Is it activated with AT&T or a different wireless carrier?
  • Have you tried visiting an AT&T Store Near You to replace the SIM card with a new one?

Fill us in more details to help get started.

We look forward to hearing from you!

"without taking it out"... of what?

If it's in a phone now, turn the phone on.  If you see the AT&T logo, and bars with no other messages, then it works.  That means that someone has been paying the bill on that account with that number.

If it says "SOS", "No Service" or "Emergency Calls Only", then the SIM is deactivated - no good, might as well just toss it.
