Same day upgrade?
If i were to pay my remaining balance on my phone today, would i be able to upgrade in store same day? Or would the payment have to process before i can upgrade? Id like to walk out with a new phone same day if possible

You could absolutely pay off your phone in an AT&T store and upgrade at the same time.
If you're doing a pay to upgrade on next up early upgrade this is recommended, you will have to factory reset and turn in your excellent condition return via early upgrade at the same time.
If you were interested in doing a trade in, you have 30 days to return with your trade-in phone, don't wait the full 30 days.
Always get a receipt.
Whether you only pay off your phone, do an early upgrade with return to AT&T, or a trade-in, you always get a receipt/a that shows your full transactions.
