Constant Wi-Fi calling notifications
Galaxy s7 after dec 8th update constantly popping up notifications about wifi calling. If Wi-Fi calling is off it's asking me to turn it on if it's on it's constantly telling me it's on. How do I stop the annoying notifications?

I'm also getting the constant notifications any time my phone lands on wifi.
I've already gone into the app info pane and disabled notifications on lock screen, but that does nothing for the alerts in the notification panel.
Like you, I just recently started getting the alerts.
There's another post about the same issue and one user said the alerts just stopped after a few days. (here's hoping).
I would have no problem enabling the wifi calling BUT when I do, I stop receiving MMS messages. I get "message download failed".... soooo, disable wifi calling and now the barrage of alerts.

Hello and good morning @ragingtripod!
Wi-Fi calling if a great feature, but I do not want the notifications to bother you. I am here to help! You can use these steps not only to modify Wi-Fi notifications, but most notifications for the apps and features on your Galaxy S7:
I hope these steps assisted you in disabling the notification. You can also learn about other settings at the Device Support page.
Thank you for reaching out to the Community Forums and have a great day!

I am also getting these in the last few days. I live in an area where WiFi is not available, due to the only internet being Satellite. Getting these constant reminder/spam asking if I want to turn it on, is really intrusive. If this were on my computer, I would call it Malware and immediately run a virus scan and/or reinstall my OS. Being this is a cell phone, this isn't really an option. This just started after allowing the Software Update day before yesterday. 😞
As OP stated, I have also turned off the Notification on the Lock Screen (ONLY option available) from the instructions given by the AT&T Rep above.

This doesn't really help. The app is identified as "Phone". You only have two options following your instructions. To disable notifications on the lock screen, or disable all notifications for the phone app! There should be another way to stop this single notification.

Mine stopped after a few days.
Many folks complaining about this, I have reached out to management last week but they have still not got back to me with a reply.
Maybe @ATTDmitriyCM can chime in.

Same here. Annoying {edited for word filter evasion}. I tried with wifi calling disabled, no dice. Enabled the wifi calling crap, went through the e911 setup then disabled and rebooted. Still getting these stupid notifications, particularly after every call made. Notification prompts me to enable wifi calling.

Support,
I am also having the issues that have been reported with the s7, but I have a s6 Active which does not have these menu break down as you have described. I have though gone in an turned off every entry that I can find to stop these notification, but every time someone come but with a device that has WiFi enabled it will prompted me to turn on WiFi calling. I have also done a factory reset, and wiped the cache before and after the reset. I also let off all programs other than the ones that came with the device and it still has the same results, so it is not anything other than the update that was pushed.

I have an S6 prepaid, and when I tap on the "enable wifi calling" notification it tells me it's not available yet and to try later! Today I went to settings then apps. Tapped on the 3 dot menu in upper right and chose "show system apps" then clicked on the wifi calling app. I tapped on "force stop" and got a message that it may cause errors, but I did it anyway. So far no more wifi calling notifications...we'll see if it lasts or if I notice any errors!

This is just an annoyance. Instead of receiving important notifications, I am constantly spammed by this garbage. AT&T should fix this immediately. It is unacceptable that this is going on because this can literally be fixed by the company in minutes, if they wanted it to be fixed. They don't have to send these notifications. Stop irritating off your customers.

hey everyone,
The solution to this problem is simple:
When the notification appears swipe on it jusy enough to reveal the gear so you can select settings for that exact notification. Be careful not to swipe the notification away. It will be labeled as PHONE. Disable this notification by selecting "Do not show notifications". Then, follow the ATT rep's instructions to get to Notifications->Advanced-> : Show system notifications and select the Wifi Calling notification and disable it.
This will not disable your phone notifications. It is just improperly labeled. I have tested and still receive missed call notifications.
For the ATT rep that does not understand why we would disable this, consider that some of us are not able to use Wifi Calling. For instance, wifi calling is not allowed for Prepaid Phones, nor is it particularly useful if you dont have wifi.
