AT&T Showing BOTH Shipped and Preparing to Ship

Why does one order status page say my new replacement phone is Shipped and another say it's Preparing to Ship?  UPS says Label Created but it hasn't moved.

I ordered my new phone 1/3/23, then it says it was shipped 1/6/23, but now we're at 1/9/23 and nothing has changed.

When can I expect to receive my new device?

Hello there,waggsfamport5.

We understand how important it is to know when your order will be shipped, and we are here to help you find the status of your order.

Kindly note that, the estimated shipping dates are based on the time that you ordered the device, and where you are on the list of orders. The length of time that it takes to receive your shipment is based on the delivery option you chose at checkout. You will receive an email when your device is shipped, and it will include tracking information. Sign in to our Order Management Portal or input your tracking info on the shipper's website to keep track of your order.

Delivery expectations:

  • Two-Day Standard Delivery. - Due to reasons beyond our control, there are times that shipping is delayed. The daily shipping window for next day delivery is by, or before, 4:00 p.m. ET.  Any order placed after that time rolls to the next business day.
  • Default Standard - 3-10 business days.
  • Priority Delivery - 2- 4 business days. (Priority shipping is not guaranteed to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.)

Furthermore, you can check your order status by going to:

  1. Go to My orders.
  2. Do one of the following to see your recent orders:
    • Search for your order.
    • Sign in to myAT&T.
  3. Find the order you want to check.

Also, keep in mind that:

  • You’ll get a confirmation email when your order ships.
  • Pre-ordered devices ship on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • Back ordered devices ship when they're available.

You can reachout to our e-commerce department on 866-267-4510 for more specific details about your order.

Let us know if this helps with locating the status of your order.

Rasheedat,

Thanks, but you did not answer any of my questions. All you did is provide a way for me to locate the information I already obtained, and AT&T doesn't seem to want to actually look into my inquiry.

If I get billed for my new phone before I have it in hand, I'm NOT going to pay one cent on that phone until I actually have it.

Thank you.

We'd be more than happy to give you some clarity on the order status of your new device, waggsfamport5.

Our first recommendation would be to check out this forums thread on checking the status of your device order.

To answer your prior question, you can expect your new device shipped, once one is in our inventory. Delays can occur if there are numerous pre-orders and if devices are on back-order. Shipments are dependent on the stock of the device. We do our best to make sure we have enough to ship out.

Sometimes the popularity and demand can outweigh the supply. Also, some colors and sizes may not be available while others are. This means some colors and sizes may arrive faster. You can check att.com to see if your particular device is in stock or not. The device will be shipped out as soon as possible! We appreciate your patience!

The meaning of "in progress", "pending", or "order open"

  • Order Open - You'll need to sign in and accept Terms & Conditions. Log into your account and complete the transaction. You can also cancel this order.
  • In Progress - An item ordered may not be in stock. You can cancel this order.
  • Pending - order is under review. An update provided within 48 hours. You may be able to cancel this order.
  • Partially Shipped - Only some of the items in the order shipped. The remaining items ship separately as they become available. You can cancel items not shipped.

  • Canceled - An order may have been canceled because payment was not finalized, the order was incorrect, credit-related issue or your identity needs to be verified.

  • Shipped - Your order is on the way! Keep an eye out for an email!

Our second recommendation would be to check the status of trade-in. Just simply click the gray "Check status" box to get started.

Please let us know how this helps and we can continue offering you more support. Thanks for reaching out to AT&T Community Forums!

Thank you for your help!  I finally received the original phone I ordered, and at this point I think it was the fault of UPS because they never updated their tracking number until AFTER it was delivered, and never informed me even though I requested updates be sent to me.

I now have the phone I wanted in hand, so I'm good.

Thanks again.
