ATT reported my newly bought device as lost or stolen. I am not a customer and bought the phone directly from samsung

My samsung galaxy s24 ultra that was bought new from Samsung directly was reported lost and stolen by ATT. I did not report my device as lost or stolen. I am not and have never been an ATT customer. My service carrier has suspended my line and informed me to contact att to remove the blacklist since they are the only ones that can. I'm not sure how to go about this.

You’ll have to contact them, but since you aren’t the one who reported it lost or stolen, they likely won’t help you.  The easiest and fastest way to resolve this is to not waste time with normal customer service, but file a BBB complaint online, which will get it escalated to upper management.  Or you can file a notice of dispute on the AT&T website.

You'll need your proof of purchase from Samsung. It's likely the phone was reported accidentally, somebody entered your phones IMEI in error.
