Hi FireFish, we want to help you download a secondary phone number on your iPhone device!

For iPhone, customers start eSIM download (requires Wi-Fi/Internet access) process from the Settings menu:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap AT&T Cellular Plan Ready to be Installed.
  3. If this option is not presented, the customer can also attempt to retrieve the eSIM by following these steps:
             -Go to Settings.
            - Go to Cellular.
            - Tap Add a plan.
            - Tap Continue.

Some activation systems pre-populate the device EID after entering the IMEI. If the EID does not pre-populate following the entry of IMEI, simply enter/scan EID into EID field.

Customers can also obtain eSIM cards by visiting an AT&T Retail store, via att.com/byod or can request an eSIM Card be shipped to them from Customer service when activating a new line of service.

Let us know if this helps! Thank you for reaching out to AT&T Community Forums!

Okaaaayyy.  So go ahead.

Just go to AT&T prepaid and purchase prepaid sim card and service. The same as you would if you were buying prepaid for a separate phone. It's not complicated I'm not sure why you're having a problem with it. Maybe if you said what the problem was we might be of more assistance.

What do you mean by that? You have a QR code but not able to use it or you can’t get a QR code? Perhaps if you identify what instructions you are following, someone can provide better guidance.

Is your phone possibly locked to a different service provider? If you are using AT&T for your primary physical Sim then it should be capable of working on AT&T.

This is a self help forum and so far you are not helping yourself very much. You have to provide some information to give us some idea of how far along in this process are you?

Is your current phone number assigned to the physical SIM card in your phone?  If yes, esim would  be available.

If you have an iPhone 14 you have two e-sims and you have to make sure you're selecting the correct Sim slot to add your new prepaid sim.
