Hello @juno1957,

Thank you for informing us. Your PREPAID SIM card should still be recognized on your wireless device. Please be sure to Activate your PREPAID SIM card if you have not done so already. Let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Hello @juno1957.

We can help with that. Did you purchase the SIM through AT&T or through a third party? If it’s a new SIM, you’ll want to make sure it’s activated. You can activate the SIM online. If this a SIM card you used with previous PREPAID service but your account was canceled, you will need to get a new SIM card. Let us know whether those steps resolve your issue. Thanks for reaching out to us on forums!

I got the sim card through a third party. Bought it at Walmart on 07/29/2018. It's that a problem?

Thanks for your help

Hi, juno1957,

We have information on SIM card error messages, what they mean and how to handle them. You probably just need to pick up a new SIM card at an AT&T Store. Find the store closest to you and set an appointment to save time. This way, they can provide you with the card, activate it, and you can go about your day in ease.

We hope you're having a great week.

Hello - is there any solution for GA108 error? I bought 2 SIM Cards at AT&T online store. For both of them I received a GA108 error when trying to activate them at AT&T activation page:

"GA108 : We don't recognize that SIM card number. Check your entry and try again. Not sure what number to look for? Your SIM card number has 20 digits and starts with 89."

The SIM card numbers are correct.

How can I solve this issue?

thanks!

It looks like a SIM card can be expired, and thus generates this error message.

I got a used phone from my partner with a SIM card in it.  When I tried to get cell service for this phone I get this message.  I guess they can't reprogram SIM cards with a new phone number or something like that.

After spending an hour getting the following error message at AT&T's web site:

And then calling this number only for it to answer as "Direct TV" and NOT At&T, and after wading thru the stupid robot front end twice I was finally able to reach a person who gave me a different number:  800-901-9878.  But this was worse.  The robot kept saying that my SIM card number wasn't recognized.  With a magnifying glass I checked it 3 times.  So all of these web pages and error messages are a big mess.

Finally I tried Chrome instead of FireFox and for whatever reason this time I was able to successfully order the $30 prepaid + a sim card.  Now they insisted to mail it to my home address, but the mail man doesn't deliver here.  .... So we'll see if I ever get it.  Nearest store is 3 hours from here.  Not  very happy with AT&T so far.  What a mess.
