Master Key Code - Unlock code

I have been working with AT&T for about 3 months trying to get my phone unlocked. It meets the requirements to get the phone unlocked and I keep getting codes which has now resulted in my phone being locked and needing a MKC. I keep getting tickets created in order to reolve the issue but none of the reps are understanding the problem and keep sending regular unlock codes. I even had areo send me to the spanish line, I wish I got her name and ID. What needs to be done to get my phone unlocked?

AT&T does not have the mck code.

The manufacturer probably has the code, but they cannot give it to you, as they are contractually prohibited from doing so.

If you want that code you can pay a third-party and they will provide you with a full set of codes.

Hello FourQ_Ent, we're here to help you with obtaining a Master Key Code.

You will need to reach out to the manufacturer of your device to get the Master Key Code as the Ace has stated. AT&T can provide network unlock code and pin unlock key for SIM cards.

Please reach back out if you have any other questions or concerns.

I've reached out to the manufacturer multiple times and they are persistent that AT&T has both the Master Code Key as well as the Network unlock code. I don't understand how you both are bouncing the responsibility to each other.

Thank you for your feed back @FourQ_Ent

As mentioned above, unfortunately we don't have access to an MCK code for your cell phone, so we're unable to provide you with that information.

We do, however, have Device unlock codes that are used to complete the unlock process for your cell phone, and begin using the device on a different wireless carrier's network.

We also have access to PUK codes that are used to unlock your AT&T SIM card, if it was locked after three wrong PIN entries.

We recommend reaching out to your current device manufacturer for further clarification and assistance.

Bottom line is AT&T cannot give you what they don’t have.

To repeat:

AT&T does not have the mck code.

The manufacturer probably has the code (all the codes) but they cannot give it to you, as they are contractually prohibited from doing so.

I get what y'all are saying but why would the manufacturer be under the impression that AT&T has it? I spoke with the again and they are saying the same thing. Why would I pay off a phone with AT&T then pay a third party to unlock the phone when they have already unlocked a phone on my line? Make it make sense.

Thank you for the update. @FourQ_Ent

We are happy to assist with the unlock of your device. Learn how to unlock your AT&T phone, Android tablet, or mobile hotspot. iPads and wearables. Submit a request to unlock a device

  1. Go to att.com/deviceunlock.
  2. Select Unlock your device and follow the prompts.

As long as you meet the following requirments we are able to unlock your device:

  • Is an AT&T phone or device and isn’t active on another AT&T account.
  • Was paid in full when you bought it (not on an installment plan). You won’t have to wait 60 days to unlock it.
  • Has a paid-off installment plan.
    • Paid through your monthly bill: Submit your unlock request at the start of your next bill period.
    • Paid off early: The wireless number assigned to the device must be active for at least 60 days. Wait 48 hours after you make your final payment to submit your unlock request. Learn how pay off your installment plan.
  • Doesn’t have a past-due account balance. Make a payment to bring your account current. It will take 24 hours for your payment to post.
  • Hasn’t been reported as lost, stolen, or involved with fraud.
  • Is an AT&T PREPAID phone that has had paid service for at least six months

Don't have an account with AT&T? You can still unlock an AT&T device as long as it meets all requirements. If you are requesting a Master Key Code, AT&T does not have access to that information to provide.
