transferring phone numbers from pc to U102AA phone

Hi Folks!

I need to transfer phone numbers from my pc to U102AA phone. Where is the software that allows my new phone to communicate with my computer? I have all the old files from my old phone on my computer ready to go into my new phone. Just need to software folks. Thanks.

We're more than happy to help you Backup & Transfer your Files to or From a PC @!

To start the process, you'll need a MicroUSB cable/cord inserted into both your PC and Cingular IV Flip phone to transfer files between devices. Our highlighted article above will provide displayed steps on what and how to move your files.

If you're trying (import your contacts) to the flip-phone, it can be done with a Memory/Micro SD card , Gmail account, or Outlook

To (export contacts) is also done with Memory/Micro SD card or via Bluetooth.

AT&T does have the Mobile Transfer App which can move contacts and files, but that requires updated and current iOS and Android smartphones to download the app while connected to wifi. This feature however is not available for the Cingular flip-phone

You can also review our Cingular Flip IV Device Support and Cingular Flip (U102AA) User manual for more details and instructions.

We hope this helps, and reach back to us if you have additional questions!

Thanks....for letting me know.

Just a few notes here. I transferred my info to a USB stick using a cellubrite machine at ATT store a while back so I could have the info in case of loss of phone, phone breaks, or need to transfer the info to another phone. This info was kept safely on my computer.

Now ATT sends me a new phone that I cannot transfer any of that info into from the PC to the phone.  ATT refuses to write the software interfacing a PC to the new phone, which would allow that to happen.

So much for ATT making it convenient for the data transfer.

Now all of us who have these new phones have to start from scratch and reinput our personal data and info wasting hours of time.

Yay Corporate!!

This is not the experience that we want you to have @rolobolo, let's work on this together!

There is no additional software needed to transfer your content from your PC to your new Cingular FlipIV. As mentioned above, to begin the process, you will need to use a MicroUSB cord to connect both devices together. Once connected, try these steps:

1. With your device powered on, insert the MicroUSB end of the cable into the port on the left side of the device. Insert the USB end of the cable into an open port on your computer.

2. To place the device into the correct USB mode, from the home screen, press the OK key to access the Apps tray. Press the navigational buttons to highlight the Settings app, then press the OK key to select.

3. Press the right or left buttons to scroll to the Storage tab, then press the down button to highlight USB storage. Press the OK key to select. (Ensure Enabled is highlighted, then press the OK key to select.)

4. From your PC, click the File Explorer icon then click This PC.

5. Click the device name, then navigate to the desired folder.

6. Drag and drop files to/from the device drive to transfer.

Let us know if this helps!

Thank you,

Excellent! This is part of what I have been trying to find.

Now I need to import all my contacts. What do I have to do to get the (html) file that the cellubrite machine saved all my contacts as, into this new phone? Which file do I place them in?

Thanks.

Hello @rolobolo, thank you for your reply!

Using the steps previously provided you are able to select individual folders on your Pc that contain the information that you want to transfer. For example, if your photos are stored on your Pc, you can select the folder and transfer contents to your phone.

For information on your Cellubrite machine and file conversion , we recommend reaching out to the device manufacturer for additional support.

We hope this information helps!

Thank you,

Thanks, Sye,

I do not have a cellubrite machine.

I used the one in your ATT store.

The one file that has all my contacts in it is in html format from the cellubrite machine.

How do I import all of my phone numbers and addresses into the Contacts folder on the phone your company gave me?

Thanks again for answering my post.

Hey @, let's search for a alternative method to store your contacts in your phone.

What device is your contacts file stored on? Have you tried transferring your files over from your PC to your phone after using the Cellebrite machine to save you contacts? The cellebrite machine format may not allow your file to export into your AT&T Cingular Flip IV.

If you're unable to successfully export your contacts to your new device, then we recommend manually keying in your contacts.

Reach back out and let us know at your earliest convenience.

What device is your contacts file stored on?

Personal Computer - Windows

Have you tried transferring your files over from your PC to your phone after using the Cellebrite machine to save you contacts?

Yes, Unable to transfer the HTML file into the phone. As the phone does not seem to give me that option.

This new phone doesn't seem to give me the option of transferring my contacts from a file on my computer to the new phone. Unless I go through Gmail, Outlook, or a memory card.

My old 15 year old phone actually had more user options than this phone.

ATT should have thought about making a program that converts the HTML file into a format that is easily copied from a personal computer to a phone. As well as sending me a new phone that allows for that option. I have about 200 phone numbers on my old phone. Manually inputting them is a huge waste of time.

As of note- the time I have spent dealing with this issue I could have manually entered the numbers as it is.

This replacement phone seems to me to be a "bait" phone with limited uses.

If I seem to be upset, you are right.

Nothing against you though as I appreciate your help.

Thanks for responding to my post.
