Can you cancel a device unlock request?

Various forum postings have indicated that despite indications to the contrary, if you do not confirm the unlock request sent via email within 24 hours the request DOES NOT cancel, but remains in limbo forever.  I further understand that sending a message to this forum will result in a case being opened within 48 hours to clear out the old request.  There appears to be absolutely no other way to contact ATT in this regard.

Please cancel this request initiated on 5/13/2021 so that I can start again:

That is not true. Posting here will not get a case opened. You need to call.
