AT&T Wireless Internet (MF279) device won't update

I am using AT&T Wireless Internet (MF279) and see there is an update to  Software version: MF279V1.11 from the previous version: MF279V1.7. I tried to update from the admin login on the device but it will not update.  Please advise.

Thanks

Hi @kcus100

Let's try troubleshooting your device using the Troubleshoot & Resolve Tool. If you require additional assistance, please respond and we'll be happy to proceed from there. Thank you.

The device is operating fine and isn't displaying anything when running the troubleshooting options. It just won't update the software to the latest version posted on your website.

Hi, @kcus100,

Have you tried to perform a reset on your MF279 yet? When you try to update the software, what error message do you receive? Please let us know.

I have the same issue. There is no error message; it just spins forever. It would be nice to have the update since it seems to be for security purposes.

I have done the factory reset. The http://att.wirelessinternet/ site doesn't appear to be working for the last couple of days. I am trying to follow the instructions posted on the ATT site https://www.att.com/device-support/article/wireless/KM1255706/ATT/WirelessNetMF279/ to update the device and still no luck. Please advise.

I'm seeing the same thing.  No problems with the MF279 in any other way but the update doesn't work.  It just sits and spins forever.  I'm on a Mac and I've tried it in Chrome, Firefox, and Safari all with the same results.

Hi

When I tried using the Troubleshoot tool I saw a message that the MF279 wasn’t supported.

Hi

One difference I noticed is that the MF279 V1.11 displaying green bars connected to my nearby  4G/LTE cell tower. My MF 279 V1.7 didn’t connect and displayed blue bars.

I've attempted a factory reset both via the web UI and the reset button on the bottom.  In both cases the router restarts, but it does NOT reset anything.  Same password (not the default attadmin), same wi-fi settings, no apparent change of any kind.

Same problem for me as stated above. All seems to be working simply won't update.
