If it is Band 30 that is making you think about switching to AT&T, make sure you buy the AT&T version of the iPhone 6S.

Right now, September 2015, the other version does not have Band 30.

There are really only two versions, the AT&T, and the other version for everybody else, whether locked or unlocked.

 6 or 6S

Not true.  Both iPhone 6 and 6S have active bands for almost every carrier.  A Verizon or T-Mobile iphone is unlocked and can be used on AT&T

George Knighton is correct. Only the AT&T model supports band 30. Yes, you can use any iPhone 6S from other carriers on AT&T, but only the AT&T model is capable of using band 30. If you plan on using AT&T, might as well be sure to get their model to ensure you can take advantage of band 30 once it is deployed.
