Crossed wireless connection
Friends call my number and occasionally another person answers or they get another person's voice mail. Is this faulty equipment or faulty software? This has happened for nearly 7 years, first with my iPhone 4S, then my Samsung Note 5 and now my Samsung Note 9. Clearly the fault is in the system, not the phone. It hasn't bothered me much until last week when I missed a call for a job, so now it is serious.
Anyone else experience this?

Hello @dboogieman,
We'd be more than happy to take a closer look into why this might be happening with your incoming phone calls.
If your friends have called your phone number and another person has answered the call on multiple occasions, have they ever had a chance to ask that person what their phone number is supposed to be? If so, is that person's phone number similar to yours, or is their phone number the same as an old phone number that you use to have?
Also, if you call your phone number from a different device right now, does this other person answer the call, or do you receive a missed call notification on your cell phone?
We recommend making sure that your friends have your correct phone number saved in their contacts. It's also possible that they may have two different phone numbers saved for your specific contact, and are calling the incorrect one occasionally.
If all of them have the correct phone number saved, this is most likely happening due to your cell phone's call forwarding settings being accidentally set up to forward incoming phone calls to that other person's phone number.
If that's the case, we recommend following the steps at this link to Manage Call Forwarding from your device.
Hope this helps!
