AT&T iphone use in Colombia, South America ?

What is the best and most inexpensie way to use my iphone in Colombia, South America?

Do I need a new SIM? Do you have a plan that covers this?

ATT does not provide service in South America. If you do use your phone with your ATT sim card, you will be roaming on someone else's network and will be subject to international roaming rates. You can get an international plan to offset some costs. Information on international rates with or without an international plan are here: https://www.att.com/shop/wireless/international/roaming.html

The other alternative is to get your phone unlocked and get service from a local Columbian cellular service provider. If you plan to use your iphone alot, getting a local sim is probably the best option but if you do not plan to make many calls and have access to wifi, an international plan might be the best option.

Hello @RLGaylord

Thank you for visiting our community.

AT&T does offer international roaming packages that can be used while in Colombia.

Please click here to view what countries we offer international service, you will see Colombia in the list and what carriers AT&T partners with.

As mentioned in an earlier reply the most inexpensive way to get service is to have your device unlocked if it meets the requirements to be unlocked by AT&T at www.att.com/deviceunlock and use a local carriers sim card while abroad.

Happy travels,

Gerald
