30$ for a sim card in store

Hi,

I just bought a 35$ prepaid mobile plan in a store, they charged me 30$ for the sim card I had to buy with it. Isn't that a rip off? I see now it should cost 5$?

Hello @briem,

We can definitely provide you with some more information on this. While our AT&T PREPAID SIM kits are normally available online for $4.99, we currently have a special online only offer to Activate your phone with a FREE SIM kit on us at the provided link. The cost of an AT&T PREPAID SIM Kit at an AT&T Retail store is $9.99, but AT&T PREPAID SIM Kits at Authorized Retailers may vary in price. Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns.

I agree, that’s a ripoff. It must have been an authorized retailer, corporate stores don’t charge that much. However, a corporate store may not have been much less. I understand in store activations now charge a $15 activation fee.
