Landline Cancelled - Answering Machine Message Recovery

My neighbor recently lost her husband and the family in trying to assist with financial matters took it upon themselves to cancel her landline. She was extremely upset as the machine message was recorded by her deceased husband which she wanted to keep. Is there any way to recover the answering machine recording?  If at all possible she would be overjoyed which is something she needs at this time.  Thank you.
