Took my Max subscription after years with them

This is the worst company ever.  Set an alarm for we signed up by pay thousands of dollars to start up my service. Then I find out that I was lied that our phone are upgrades because he downgraded all of our Phone's but I felt trapped. The store couldn't help me because I was helped in one of the targets, and the rep that helped me with the set up was the only one that could, but he wouldn't answer our calls. Once we could get help we will already trapped in the service.  Now, years later, they just snatched our h b o max without any warning and all they can say is oops.. I promise I'm leaving AT&T. Horrible service!

Huh?  🤦🏼‍♀️

Buying new phones, no matter what they are, is still an upgrade.

If you didn't select phones that you felt were truly better than the last phone that was your choice. You're supposed to know what you want to buy.

The only reason you would have lost it Max is if you changed your plan. Did you agree to a plan change?  Think about it. Somewhere in the midst of buying new phones the person that sold you new phones suggested some new feature that was available to you and you said yes,  which means you voluntarily changed your plan.

I haven't made any changes at all. Same phones,  it just stopped

If you haven't changed your plan then you haven't lost Max, you've just been signed out and they're having trouble signing back in again. Almost everyone was recently signed out and has to sign back in again.
