Spam texts
I keep receiving text messages from at&t saying that they have detected many spam texts on my account and that soon they will lock me out. Is this legitimate?

No, those are also spam texts and not from ATT.

We understand the importance of keeping your personal account information secured due to fraudulent risks @MarciaBishop .
Please forward those suspicious texts to 7726 (SPAM).
You can report these messages and unwanted calls using our security report form.
Also, check out additional Fraud & security resources we offer for your protection.
We hope this helps!
Thank you for connecting with the Community.

This doesn’t help at all. Personally, I have reported over 1,000 spam texts and blocked even more, yet the spam texts keep coming in. I get approximately 15-20 per day! Even when I report them to 7726, they still keep coming in and AT&T does nothing! It’s become a job in itself, and AT&T is NOT doing anything about it! How do we make it stop?!? What’s the point of reporting it if AT&T isn’t fixing the problem? On my wireless side, I have the iPhone message filtering of unknown callers activated, yet no resolution is found. On top of that, I’ve been registered with the FTC Do Not Call List since 2018, yet still receive hundreds of spam texts on a weekly basis! I’m losing my mind! What are we the customer supposed to do… just accept this substandard harassment? HELP!!!

I don’t understand the point of AT&T’s call protect and new security features when they do nothing to prevent us from receiving multiple fraudulent texts a day. I have reported the texts and blocked numbers to no avail. What’s even more worrisome is the link includes my phone number and directs you to a page that legitimately looks like an AT&T chat.

We'll be happy to help you with your spam text concerns @crzycatldy13.
Call Protect is intended more for blocking spam calls. For spam texts, other than reporting and blocking, another option worth considering (since, judging by this screenshot, you appear to be using an iPhone) could be setting up a filter to screen out texts from unknown senders.
The CTIA provides a comprehensive list of third-party call blocking apps and services that are available that may be viable options for you.
Please let us know if these options work for you or if you have any other questions. If so, we'll be pleased to assist.
