Need to disconnect direct tv receivers from AT&T phone used as mobile hotspot
My direct tv shows up as connected to my phone hotspot tethering. It is using up data at a rapid rate (I think). I?m assuming something is running whenever the phone is turned on. I have tried turning off all background apps but the hot spot says that the data saver has to be off to use the tethering. This is a new issue as of March. I have used the phone as a hot spot for a few years without this issue. I also keep the setting on the lower bandwidth. Yesterday I printed two pages and it used .25 GB. I have searched all of the website and can find no instruction on how to remove this connection from the hotspot/tethering.

So turn off your phone's hotspot.
And you can also delete that information from your streaming device. What are you using, a Roku? a fire Stick? A smart TV?
