Unable to login to my sbcglobal.net/ yahoo email through Mac mail or Safari yet it works on Google Chrome.

Mac mail works fine with this address on a computer running an older OS. It stopped working on my iMac with Mojave. I can only log in to mail through Google Chrome. It will not work with Mac mail or Safari and gives me the message "Something's gone wrong. We may be having trouble with your connection. Connecting your device to Wi-Fi could help fix the issue or try again later." I tried the secure mail key and it gives me the message "this user name and password do not match". I'm also unable to add the mail account by going to system prefs/ internet accounts on the Mac. Appreciate any help.
