Secure Mail Key (OAUTH) with 3rd Party Email application ' MailWasher ' - Stopped working last week -Server will NOT allow a login now

In June 2021 (Jun-2021), my 3rd party email application ' MailWasher ' stopped working (ATT server would No longer allow Mashwasher to log into my account using my official password).

I found out about the requirement that I CREATE a 'Secure Mail Key' (OAUTH) in my account, which I did and Mailwasher was then able to successfully log into my account once again. Mailwasher has worked perfectly since June 2021 until last week.

Last week (Feb-2023), I received a pop up message form Uverse asking me if I give permission for MailWasher to log into my email account.  I checked all the permissions boxes and used my normal login password to confirm this permission. I successfully gave the Uverse Server permission for MailWasher to continue to log into my email account.

At that point in time last week after giving successful permission for MailWasher to log into email account once again,  MailWasher was NO longer able to Log into my email account.

Today having some extra time on my hands, I logged into my account and CREATED a NEW ' Secure Mail Key ' (OAUTH).

With this new ' Secure Mail Key ' (OAUTH), MailWasher is still NOT being allowed to log into my email account.

I tried using my normal password I use to manually log into my account at Yahoo Mail.  This did not work either. MailWasher is still NOT being allowed to log into my email account.

What is the Solution to this login issue  MailWasher is having since last week after the ATT Server ask me to give MailWasher permission to continue to log into my email account?

Thanks,

Steve

Hey there @iStand. Thanks for reaching out to us about not being able to login to your 3rd party email client, and we'd be happy to help you.

To get started, we'd recommend clearing the cache and cookies from the device that you're using. There could be saved data that could be interfering with you being able to use your Secure Mail Key to log into your email service.

Also, try resetting your password for your AT&T email account and then trying to log into it through Currently. If you're able to access your email account after resetting your password, then try to create a new Secure Mail Key to log into your 3rd party email client.

Let us know if this helps.

NO, it still does NOT work.

I created a NEW "Secure Mail Key", but this did not fix my login issue.

Here are my MailWasher Pro settings................:

Server Type = POP3
Server Address = inbound.att.net
Server Port = 995.
Security Connection Type = OAUTH
Secure Authentication is.... CHECKED
Pipelining = Both boxes CHECKED

Do these settings look correct?

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for getting back to us, iStand.

We can't be sure that those are the correct settings for MailWasher, since it's a 3rd party mail client that we don't support.

Just to clarify, were you able to sign in to Currently, as Raiden mentioned? We're asking because if you can sign in to Currently, then the problem lies with MailWasher.

If MailWasher supports OAUTH, then you don't use the SMK, you log in with your regular webmail password.

If you still get errors, use these alternate servers instead of the att.com servers.

POP3

pop.mail.yahoo.com  (use Port 995 and SSL/TLS)

smtp.mail.yahoo.com  (use Port 465 and SSL/TLS)

FYI.... Mailwasher Pro STOPPED working (once again) about a week ago for no apparent reason.

Unfortunately, I figured out how to make Mailwasher Pro start working again for my ATT / Yahoo POP3 Web Mail.

SOLUTION: Changed Password   FROM "ATT Login Password"   TO "Secure Mail Key" [generated in user's online ATT account]

NOTES:
(From the two dated notes below, one can see that the ATT/Yahoo Web Mail Software has "Flipped Flopped" between requiring "ATT Login Password" or "Secure Mail Key" as the password ).........:

- 2023-07-13 (TODAY) -- Mailwasher Pro starts working gain...
Solution was to change Password to.. "Secure Mail Key", instead of my "ATT Account Password"

- 2023-03-02 -- Mailwasher Pro starts working gain...
Solution was to change Password to.. "ATT Account Password", instead of my "Secure Mail Key" [generated
in user's online ATT account]

For Reference,
below are the settings I am using in MailWasher Pro TODAY for my now working ATT / Yahoo POP3 Web Mail .

Inbound......
Server Type POP3
Server Address: inbound.att.net
Username: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Password: "Secure Mail Key" [generated in user's online ATT account - NOT account Password]
...
ADVANCED Settings....
Server Port Number: 995
Security connection: OAUTH
"Check" box Use secure authentication

PIPELINING.....
"Check" box Enable for checking mail
"Check" box Enable for deleting mail

Outbound.....

SMTP server address smtp.mail.att.net

ADVANCED Settings....
Server Port Number 465
"Check" box SMTP server requires authentication
"Check" circle User same settings as my incoming mail server
Secure connection: SSL
