I can't log in into my e-mail or change my password

I was  logged out of my email (sbcglobal.net email). I went to log back in, but it said that he account "may be compromised" and suggested to change password (I had no other choice).  I tried resetting the password, but was unable to give correct answers to answers to the security questions, since the email was created 20 years ago.  After three or so attempts, the security questions option was gone and the only option left was texting a code  to a number I don't recognize. I am not able to log in into my account and change security questions or enter a different recovery phone number.

Hey @Aniuta, we understand that you’re unable to log in to email account, we hear you and let’s get the help you need.

 

We recommend you to Reset your password using the option to receive a temporary password instead of answering the security questions.

 

Here are the steps:

  1. Go to att.com/myatt.
  2. Select Forgot password?
  3. Fill out the password info.
  4. Choose temporary password and follow the prompts. We’ll let you know where we sent it.
  5. Create your new password.

The temporary password option was not available: only security questions and sending a code to a phone I don't recognize.
