ATT email continues to make me reset password with each login!

I have had the same email address with ATT for over 15 years.  ATT has made it nearly impossible to get my emails from them now.  I have to reset my password with each login, otherwise it says there have been too many wrong logins and wont let me access it.  I have called their support and all that they have done is walk me through testing my password -again-which I already know how to do.  I wonder if there is a (Edited per community guidelines) of something pending.  Not having access to my email cost me a job interview, as I did not get the email until ofter the day they wanted to meet with me.  Is there a solution to this issue yet?  If ATT wants to close down its email, they should have at least notified everyone so that email addresses could have been changed PRIOR to them doing this (Edited per community guidelines) move!

I am having same problem. Been calling AT& T every 2 wks to get a temp password. Mine won't even let me change password now, it just says to call their 800 number. Yesterday a guy finally told me in chat support that he saw the issue and that it was with my email being synced to something. He didn't tell me what it was synced to and didn't send me a temp password. He only said someone from higher up would call me within 30 min. No one ever called me, and I've now been locked out for 2 days. I really need to send a doc from my computer that is scanned in. I have no trouble accessing my att.net email from my phone. However, for work purposes (I work from home) I need access to email on my PC... They have told me since Feb '22 that this is a PC problem only, and that they have to fix all IPs individually. They said they are starting with business accounts first. I told them a month ago that I work from home so it is used for business, they said they escalated my issue, but nothing. No help, no calls, no fix.. I don't know what to do. This email is attached to everything for me. I've had it over 12 years. Now when you try to call AT&T, it says their call volume is so high, they will call back later in week. IT is getting ridiculous. I guess I may finally have to get a new email, which really bothers me because this one worked so well for so long. Wish AT&T would get their s*&t together.

Hello, dragonmora. We can try to reset your email password for you.

We'll send you a Direct Message to begin. Look for the chat icon in the upper right corner of the page.

It's 12 hours later. Still have not received any "Direct Message" or anything from AT&T. Still cannot log into my email on my PC.

@ATTHelp I have not been able to access my email for over two weeks. Keep getting 205.2 code and can’t reset password because it keeps telling me the security questions are incorrect.

Yep, that the code I get. Says too many login attempts even though it's my first attempt in two weeks. Then I try to reset password and it tells me I have to call 1-800-288-2020 ( which is always too busy to take calls). Smh

Thwere are hundreds of posts about this problem and ATTs responses are rubbish.

When you get the "need to reset password" reset it but to the same password you are already using. That usually works, for a while at least.

I can’t reset my password as it says my security answers are incorrect.

Icall them every 2 wks to get temp password, then I reset it to my old password.. pain in the butt to call and talk to someone 45 min each time to get a temp pass.

@dragonmora   Yeah, well, that train has left the station.  AT&T will no longer issue a temporary password, most likely because someone with more than two brain cells pointed out to them what a terrible security risk that was.

If you can still log in, I urge you to begin the process of moving your email to a different email service.
