Deleting email accounts when I no longer have AT&T service

Because of the latest breach - I would like to delete all of the email accounts that originated with AT&T but are served by Yahoo.  I haven't had an account with them for nearly 5 years.

If your information (email addresses) are on the dark web there is nothing that you or anyone else can do to remove them. As far as deleting email accounts that you haven't used for 5 years that might not be possible being as you are no longer a customer.

Hi @deliverredt,

We understand that you want to delete your AT&T email account that is served by Yahoo. We'll be happy to assist you.

If your email address is linked to an AT&T account, make sure that the account has been cancelled for 30-60 days before attempting to delete the email address.

Just follow the steps below to Delete your AT&T Email Account:

  1. Go to Profile.
  2. Select Contact info.
  3. Select the Email tab.
  4. Under Free AT&T email account, select Manage. If you don’t see that option, your email account can’t be deleted.
  5. Next to Member ID, select Delete Account. Select OK.
  6. Confirm that the Status at the bottom of the User Information section now reads Disabled. Your email account has been deleted.

To delete your Yahoo mailbox on the web, follow these steps:

  1. Head over to the Yahoo account termination page.
  2. Type in your email address and click “Next.”
  3. Enter your password and click “Next.”
  4. Read through the terms and conditions.
  5. Proceed with the “Continue delete my account” option.

Remember to back up any important emails or data before proceeding with the deletion process.

We hope these steps help and feel free to reach back out if you have any other questions or concerns!

Thanks for contacting us on AT&T Forums Community!

I tried both of those, but when I log into ATT, I don't have an option for Contact Info or an email tab.  I'm using Chrome - does that make a difference?  And when I go to Yahoo, I get to the Continue delete my account - I get an Oops message and that I have to try back later - tried it now for 3 days.
