No. There is no “swapping”. You will sign up for AT&T service and once installed, cancel Cox.

As recommended by @skeeterintexas above, I highly recommend leaving your existing service active until after the AT&T installation is complete. Additionally, have your current Wi-Fi name and password available on the day of the installation. The technician can assist you with changing the AT&T Wi-Fi name and password to match your existing network. This will allow for the majority of your wireless devices to switch over automatically! Saves a lot of time when changing service providers.
