SLINGBOX M-1 (NEW WI-F- READY) can't work DVR functions via the faux remote? Help?

We bought M1-Slingbox and set it up in our master bedroom to the STB there--using a silver remote.
We had no issues getting it connected to our home wi-fi w/o a cable---the STB and the Slingbox seems to work fine when my husband accessed it through his Toshiba laptop a couple of times after we installed it at the house.
Then we went on trip and are trying to access it from a Verizon Fios Wi-FI/cable setup at house we are tonight.
My husband had no problem signing on and watching live cable --faux remote worked to change channels--turn off/on STB. The MENU buttom calls up the normal screen but when he clicks the RECORDED heading there is nothing on the list...there is a message that they can't be viewed because the televison and STB are not connected to the Internet---
the Slingbox at home is obviously connected to the Wi-Fi because he can access live programming?
We have the silver remote for that STB and we choose it from the Slingbox list at setup...

Is there an incompatible feature to using UVerse at home and Fios when away?
Do we have to reboot either the main gateway or the STB since the Slingbox is hooked up with the cables that came in the box--no ethernet to the RG...just the old fashioned ones...

We need any solution explained so that we technically challenged people can understand--because if there is a fix needed at the house--we have to explain to somone even more clueless than we are...

appreciate any suggestions...

It does sound to me like you are seeing what the STB is doing and the IR is generally controlling that STB as if you were in the room with the silver remote, with the one exception - the DVR button.

There was another similar post a while back - Use the chan 9999 access to the recorded list.

If that does not work, there is a problem with the STB/RG/DVR connection. The first attempt to correct this would be a whole house reboot -

Pull power on RG, DVR, STBs

Restore RG,wait for all green

Restore DVR, wait for viewing.

Restore STB(s)
