Default Device Access Code is not accepted
I am trying to input my default device access code that is labeled in the side of my router. I keep getting "the default access code you entered is incorrect". Reset my router and still not working. Is there any other way to get the access code?

Is the "reset" you did just a reboot or did you factory reset by pushing the red button on the back of the gateway for about 10 secs.? If you did a factory reset and the AC shown on the label is still not working (even by default) then get the gateway replaced by calling tech support (800-288-2020).

Hi, ronfilmr! Let's get you the information that you need to get this accomplished.
We understand that you are trying to get access to the router correct? By your statement, it looks like you are trying to do a factory reset to make the router default back to its original settings.
The only time you would need to reset the W-Fi is, if there are customized settings in the router, such as a changed Wi-Fi username and password. If you perform a factory reset, then any customized setting will be deleted and it would revert back before you got it.
Let us provide you with instructions to help you with this Factory Reset properly. Using the aforementioned link, it will take you to a great forums article that will help you to factory reset your equipment safely and effectively.
After that factory reset, you can go back and restore any customized settings that you have done on your own.
If there is anything else that you need, please reach back out to us again.

@ronfilmr If the reset doesn't help, take a picture of the label that has the Access Code.
Then zoom in and look carefully at the characters. One issue we've seen repeatedly is that people think there's a "V" in the code and it turns out that it's really two slashes close together "\/". Or it could be that other characters are being misinterpreted and getting a closer look helps there too.

Okay, glad to have found this post, I have been going crazy trying to enter the default access code and getting an error. The code had \/ (slashes) which I was reading as capital v. GRR, someone should have thought to parse the random generator's output. Thanks again for the help!
