My understanding is that the Google Chromecast requires a UPnP enabled router to function. None of the AT&T Residential Gateways support UPnP (which is, incidently, one of the fastest growing protocols in terms of attacks targeted on it). You may (after considering my prior comment) purchase your own router that supports UPnP and configure it behind the RG. Please see post 2 in this thread if you elect to go that route.
