ATT Homebase Internet ZTE MF279

My device keeps losing connectivity. I've tried resetting it to it's default settings but is doesn't make a difference. Whenever I view live content that seems to cause it to drop. Any ideas?

Good morning @TJ911s

Thanks for the information.

Lets check your device firmware to ensure your device software is up to date.

  1. Connect your AT&T Wireless Internet (MF279) to your computer or Wi-Fi-enabled device by Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable.
  2. Open a web browser and go to http://att.wirelessinternet.
  3. Enter your Admin login, then click Login.
Note: Your login can be found on the bottom of your AT&T Wireless Internet.
  4. Select About Your Device to view the device's Hardware and Software/Firmware Versions.

Please confirm : Software Version MF279V1.11

How many Connected Devices connect by Wi-Fi?

Are you streaming to a PC, Android, MAC, iOS, tvOS?

How far is your Connected Device from the ATT Wireless Internet (MF279) base?

My setting are the same as the manual. My device loses a connection when viewing live broadcast. It's happening 4-5 times a day. I've tried Firefox, Chrome and Safari with the same results.

I've attached a screen shot of my device settings.

I'm connected to a Mac running the latest OS.

We live in an RV so the max distance is 15-20 feet.

Thank you @TJ911s

Your software is out of date and needs to be updated to improve your watch experience.

During the installation process, the LED indicator Antenna icon and Signal bar on the device will be blue and flashing.

  1. Connect MF279 to PC by Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable.
  2. Go to att.wirelessinternet/ and log in.
  3. Select AT&T Software Update in the lower left corner of the screen.
  4. The current software version displays; select check for updates.
  5. Status Message: ..Please wait while the AT&T software update is downloaded. The download process may take several minutes
  6. After downloading completes; select Install Now.
  7. Status Message: ..Please do not turn off device. The AT&T Software update will take several minutes and will not change or delete any of your Wireless Internet device settings. All services (including emergency calls) will be suspended during the installation
  8. The device restarts after installation is complete.
  9. Notification: You're logged out of your account. Please login again.
  10. Update complete displays after logging in.

We strongly recommend updating your device software on the four connected devices we see on the screenshot as well.

Please post back with your success.

I agree the software is out of date but when I select check for updates under setting it either says my software is up to date or an icon just spins continuously checking for update. Can you send me a link to where the update is located? I've also tried resetting the device but it never does.

Can I get the resolution to this as well? My unit says v1.7 is "software version is up to date"

My unit was still under warranty so I was able to get it replaced. The new unit already had the updates software installed. Also when I hit the reset button is completely reset it back to the factory defaults, unlike my original device. My new device is working perfectly....so far.
