Unable to access at&t email on phone or tablet

I have had no email updates since 7:15 this morning on my phone or tablet.  My laptop account works fine.  I get a message saving it can't connect to the server.  I tried deleting my email account from my tablet and now cannot reinstate it.... Same message.  Please help.

Greetings @Nativenant.!

Thank you so much for reaching out in regards to being unable to access you AT&T e-mail account on your phone and tablet. I know how important it is to have access to your e-mail. I  am here to help!

Did you have your AT&T e-mail merged with Yahoo? If so this may be the reason why you are having trouble gaining access back to the account. We do have an article about Yahoo Merged E-mail Accounts Getting Unmerged. This will show you many different ways to gain access back to the account.

Please let me know if this helps!

I have read the article and am thoroughly confused.  What has changed for me is that originally I could not receive email on my phone or tablet....laptop and pc were fine.  NOW my tablet is receiving email but my phone still is not.  My tablet email incoming settings list the IMAP server as "imap.mail.yahoo.net."  And my tablet outgoing settings list SMTP server as "smtp.mail.yahoo.net."  My phone will not accept that setting.  I'm getting very frustrated with all this.  Thank you.

I do apologize for any confusion. Thank you for letting me know! Since it seems to be the servers may not be correct for your phone, I have something for you!

May I ask if you have corrected the APN Settings? Making sure the incoming and outgoing setting are correct for the type of phone as well as the type of AT&T e-mail it is.

One there, choose the type of device you have weather it is an Android, iOS, or Windows phone, this will then show which data settings to use.

Hope this helps!
