Prodigy.net email status
Are the prodigy domain email accounts being discontinued. I've heard AT&T is dropping some of its old email domains, and know people who can no longer access their prodigy emails. Do they just need to reset their password or what?

They are not discontinuing the legacy accounts so I don't know where you heard anything to the contrary. The problem is that att and yahoo have unmerged the legacy accounts (e.g. sbcglobal.net, pacbell.net, bellsouth.net, etc., i.e., any att domain other than att.net) from yahoo but it appears to be a (never ending IMO) work in progress. Many others with legacy accounts are having login problems as well. Resetting the password is a recommended first attempt at trying to fix your problem (see announcement to the right of your post above).

It turned out I did have to update my password for att.com, then attempt to login to the prodigy account at att.net, which still failed, so I used forgot password. And that brought me back to a page on att.com, and let me reset the password. After that, I was finally able to get back into prodigy again.

Whatever works. Bottom line is you still had to change it as recommended.

I’ve received two emails indication that my version needs to be updated. I feel this is phishing. Am I correct?:
Failure to Upgrade to the newest AT&T/Yahoo Mail 18.5.2 now will result to a permanent account closure.
To upgrade please open the Attachment to avoid service disruption.
Thanks,
