Outlook not connecting with sbcglobal.net server

I am using outlook 2016 / outlook 365  and I am trying to access my sbcglobal.net email but it will not connect.  I have deleted the account and trying to set up new one and it gives me message something went wrong  We couldn't connect to the incoming (IMAP) server. Please check your email address and password and try again.

 

I have confirmed my email which I have had for years and years!!  I confirmed my password as I can log in on yahoo.com website.

 

Please help as I am haivng issues on my work outlook as well as my personal Mac outlook!!

Do you really mean the yahoo.com website or the start.att.net website?

Are you using the yahoo servers or the att/yahoo servers?

Since you have a legacy account I suggest changing your password.  Sometimes that works.

If you are actually using the att/yahoo servers I also suggest using a secure mail key in place of your password in your email clients.

Read this (which includes a link to how to create a secure mail key).  Sometimes this works too.

If all of these fail call the Digital Assistance Center (877-267-2988).
