Enter Network Password keeps popping up

I am using Microsoft Outlook for my email. Periodically, a popup appears making me "Enter Network Password" which is already there by defalt. I have checked the box to remember the password.

I've been with ATT-Uverse for a number of years and this continues to happen. Even though it doesnt happen every day, the days that it does, is very frustrating. All email functions cease until it's reentered. I've seen it reoccur within a minute!

Is there an ATT fix for this? I've never had this happen prior to ATT-Uverse.

It's just AT&T's normal bad Authentication server problem.  It happens every now and then.  It's too much trouble for them to look at the server logs to see which one is expriencing the problem, so they wait until several thousand complaints are sent in.  They'll get around to it sometime.

Just when you think they may have fixed it.  Not a chance. This has been going on for years and years. Obviously AT&T doesn't think we pay enough for service to actually give us what we're paying for. This problem has cropped back up over the past few weeks and it's getting worse. All weekend long popups. There isn't an hour that goes by with no ppoups. I check several other email servers and have never experienced this problem. Only AT&T has it and only AT&T doesn't do anything about it. Come on AT&T...the holiday weekend is over. Perhaps you can actually fix the service we're paying for. I know...I'm dreaming right?

This problem still exists. Has anyone monitoring this board reported it yet?

I've raised this issue in the past, patiently waiting for a fix.

I guess they havent received enough complaints.

One solution quite a while back was offered saying, sign into their email in ATT-Uverse and do an action showing you were there. That seemed to help,, for a while. But, we should not have to do this!

This has been going on since I've been with AT&T..over 6 years.

You can patiently wait but as far as I'm concerned they will not fix it.
First of all it's not their servers. They contract Yahoo to provide email
so control of the servers is under Yahoo. Until AT&T and Yahoo come
together and fix this problem it will always be there which for the past 6
years it has.

That solution is worthless. The only solution is to fix the problem.

Thanks for the reply.

I have been having the same problem for 5 years on both my Outlook 2007 and my cell phone email client.  It is not an email client issue and AT&T refuses to fix it.

Tech support is now trying to get me to PAY CONNECTECH FOR SUPPORT!!   Baloney!  In fact, I am going to demand a credit until they get this fixed.  If I don't get a credit I am going back to Time Warner.

Even as another ATT customer, I strongly recomend using another e-mail client NOT att or Yahoo. (I find, g-mail and outlook seem to be a good choice, for instance.)

Frankly, the ONLY thing I use att's e-mail for is att related communications.

And mind you, I recomend this also to folks, whos att/yahoo related accounts seem to be working just fine. (In otherwords, everyone.)

No cure, and it appears that neither AT&T nor Yahoo (allegedly according to
AT&T tech support the owner/operator of the email servers have any intention
or motivation to do anything about it. I have experienced this issue since
12/15/2011 when I returned to AT&T from Time Warner Cable. I can't tell you
how many times I have complained and sought tech support from level 1 and
level 2 tech support. Maybe 25 or 30 calls. They even tried giving me a
free subscription to Connectech which was a complete waste of time. Those
people follow an on screen script and can't work their way out of a paper
bag.

No, we are stuck with this problem until AT&T deigns to step up and research
the problem then fix it. Meanwhile they try to blame Microsoft, which we
know absolutely for certain is not the issue. For some reason the server
doesn't recognize the true login information for the email account. It
happens on my cell phone and computers with no regard to which email client
I use, Microsoft or not. I would suggest that we as a community hammer away
at AT&T continuously to fix the issue. Squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Either that or find a different ISP and let AT&T know why you are leaving.
It will either take massive customer complaint tickets or hit them in their
bottom line by leaving to get them to fix it. I am sick of it. I'll be
typing a letter or an invoice or email and the popup occurs hijacking my
cursor from whatever it is I am working on. It's beyond annoying. Good
luck.

This has been happening all day yesterday and is happening again this morning.

Figures it would start during the holiday when no one is around. Not that it really matteres since no one there fixes anything anyway.

Took you years to finally get this to stop but as usual the fix is never permanent.
