Bellsouth.net email and Thunderbird

Last Thursday Thunderbird stopped allowing incoming or outgoing BellSouth.net email.  I have tried numerous setting changes but get the disclaimer that the configuration must be wrong.  But the Logon and Password work online, just not in Thunderbird.

Suggestions?

Let’s get your email back working @THURSTON_SG!

Although we do not support 3rd party email clients, we recommend checking your email server settings. You can do this by using our AT&T email server settings article to get the correct POP3 and IMAP settings.

Recently, there have been some changes to our email security and you may also need to create a secure mail key. To set this up, follow the steps provided under the avoid email hiccups section of our secure mail key article.

Let us know if this was helpful.

Same situation here. Went through all the help via phone, No fix. Can get in mail with secure mail key. Other bellsouth accounts work. Just one, the main accounbt that just stipped working Sunday night ( 10-18- 20). No changes were made on on phone or desktop. This is the third time this has happened over the years. Been using bellsouth and Thunderbird since 1991. No matter how I change passwords it will not allow my main account to accept password through Thunderbird.

last time this happened there were complaints on this forum about this problem. It was when the Yahoo servers and att were combined. The problem once mysteriously fixed itself after days. Last time somebody finally took the issues seriously and fixed it after complaints.

It is not the setting on TB it is something with the server accepting a particular address. Last time I kept with ATT because of the hassle of changing all my contact info that is 30 years old. Two days of dealing with this has my patience running thin.

BTW I will not get any auto response to my email because I can't get it.

If TB was the problem (settings out of wack) the secure mail key would not work with TB either. Isn't that correct?
