Hard... based upon several posts here.
ATT is extending credit, monthly payment plan... the credit check is to determine if credit worth or if need to pay a non refundable credit management fee of $100 or more for those with no social, no credit or poor credit.
Soft inquiries are normally for mail offers and such without actual application for service.

When I signed up, it says it will not register as a credit check with your bank.

Hard, and when I called they refused to tell me which. I was desperate to get internet, so I let them and hoped it’d be a soft pull… but over the next week my score had dropped 20 points and their name was attached to the reason why.
I feel like this should be illegal.
