Fiber to my house?

I live in Texas and my city is a fiber city but where my address is located is basically in between where everyone stops providing. So I am stuck with one provider who has a monopoly on me. Their service is trash and I would like better. We need fast speeds, Fiber speeds but they aren't available to us. Our rep told us that fiber should be available to me around December 2017. That was basically 9 months ago. Is there anything I can do to get fiber ran to me?
